Q: How do I reserve a property?
A: You can use the contact form, or call 1 310.399.6023 or toll free reservation line 1 888.484.5623. Just let us know your specific dates or date range, the size of house or the name of the home you're interested in. We will email you the rental agreement to complete and return. We respond to all emails and phone calls quickly and courteously.
Q: How do I pay for my vacation home rental?
A: Globe Homes and Condos welcomes major credit cards as well as personal checks, cashier's checks or money orders. Payment in full is required 30 days prior to your arrival. To reserve a home, a deposit of 50% of the amount is due upon booking, if the reservation is made more than 30 days in advance. Upon request, plans in equal thirds are available for reservations that are made more than 6 months in advance. Booking deposit may be negotiated on a case-by-case basis for frequent and repeat tenants.
All payments are due in U.S. Dollars, unless noted differently.
Q: What fees are associated with Globe Homes and Condos rentals?
A: Most homes for vacation rental offer nightly, weekly and monthly rental rates posted on the individual web page for each house. In addition to rent for the time period, charges include: a one-time departure cleaning fee, pool heating if you select that option, and the local City Tax on all vacation rentals for less than a month. The lodging tax is identical to the tax that of the local hotels.
Q: How is the security deposits handled?
A: For rentals of less than 30 days The security deposit will be run as an "authorization only" on a major credit card within 7 days prior to check-in. The authorized/reserved amount will be "dropped" within 2 weeks after check-out date provided that real and personal property are in the same condition as when occupancy commenced and all terms of this agreement are met. Tenant is liable for all replacements and repairs that are outside what is considered normal wear and tear. If something after the rental is deemed not in good order, a charge will be made against this security deposit authorization.
Q: What is the minimum rental time period?
A: A minimum three night rental is required. Some homes and condos might require a 1 week or 1 month minimum. Certain holidays, holiday weekends and special events require minimum reservation periods ranging from 3 days to 1 week.
Q: How are your vacation homes supplied?
A: Each home is completely and tastefully furnished and supplied with linens, towels, soaps, cookware and utensils. Most homes will have spices and shared condiments available.
Q: What about commercial photography at your vacation homes?
A: Commercial photography of any kind, still, digital or video is not permitted at any home without advance express written permission. Filming of adult content movies or still photography is strictly prohibited.
Q: Is there a minimum age required to rent a Globe Homes and Condos vacation home?
A: Yes, all adult guests must be 25 years or older to rent a private vacation home from Globe Homes and Condos. However, in some instances we are able to accommodate younger renters. In these cases a higher security and possibly a higher rental fee may be charged. Misrepresentation of age or occupancy will result in immediate forfeiture of occupancy and legal action.
Q: Are there any other occupancy regulations we should know about?
A: Each property has a maximum occupancy, generally two per room. Undisclosed guests will result in loss of rental fees paid, complete forfeiture of security deposit, and all guests being evicted. Guests that disturb the peace and quiet of neighbors will be evicted with no refund of rental fees paid and may forfeit a portion or all of refundable deposit. Globe Homes and Condos is not responsible for accidents, injuries, loss of money, jewelry, or valuables of any kind.
Q: What is your policy regarding dogs?
A: Several of our homes are pet friendly and marked on the Internet as small dog-allowed "WOA", or "with owner approval." You must inform us if you wish to bring your dog. We will request information about your dog and procure owner approval prior to confirming your reservation. An additional pet deposit or pet charge may apply. If you bring a pet without prior approval, entire deposit is forfeited and you may be subject to additional fees.
Q: What is your policy regarding cats?
A: From time to time certain owners will approve cats in their home. Generally, an additional deposit of $1,000.00 is required and a pet charge may also be applied. If you bring a pet without prior approval, entire deposit is forfeited and you may be subject to additional fees.
Q: Do all homes have private pools?
A: In the desert area, the majority of our vacation homes feature both private pools and spas. Condos and townhouses mostly have shared pools and spas and indicate this in the description of the home. A few of our private homes have pools, without a whirlpool spa. Each home's description provides the complete details.
Q: Are the swimming pools and spas heated?
A: Yes, in fall & winter months you have the option to purchase pool heating for the homes. For the desert area we highly recommend pool heating for the months of October through May. All homes are equipped with pool heaters. For most properties the fee for pool heating is $40 per day, $225 per week. For monthly rentals, guests pay actual gas and electric utilities rather than pool heating. Pool heating is available for all rentals, upon your request. We heat pools to a comfortable temperature of 87-88 degrees. The pool heaters are powered by natural gas which are extremely costly to operate.
Q: Do all homes have central air conditioning?
A: For all our desert area homes: yes. For other homes it depends on the location.
Q: What is your cancellation policy?
A: Should you wish to cancel this reservation, notice of cancellation MUST BE IN WRITING AND RECEIVED MORE THAN 30 DAYS PRIOR TO YOUR CHECK IN DATE. We will refund the sums you have paid, less a $250 cancellation fee. If your notice of cancellation is RECEIVED LESS THAN 30 DAYS PRIOR TO YOUR CHECK IN DATE, you will forfeit all sums paid, except your security deposit, unless we are able to re-rent the property to someone else, at the same rate, for the same period. If the property is rented we will only charge the $250 cancellation fee. In this case, this charge would be made against your credit card authorization. If the requested accommodations should be unavailable for any reason beyond the control of Globe Homes and Condos, Globe Homes and Condos reserves the right to substitute an alternative property of equal or higher value.
Q: What is the arrival procedure?
A: Unlike most other rental companies one of our Guest Relations Managers will welcome you at house to help you with your luggage, let you know how everything works and to answer any questions you might have. All you would do is to call your designated Guest Relations Manager 30 minutes prior to arrival so he/she will be ready for you. Check-in time is 4PM unless agreed to differently in advance. In some cases when the arrival time is outside normal business hours or due to extenuating circumstances we may provide a lock box at the property if our guest services manager is not available.
Q: What are your departure procedures?
- Please turn off all lights, TVs, stereo, oven, range, etc. Set A/C to 90 in warm or summer months. Turn off heater in winter or cold months. Do not turn off refrigerator, water heater or other major appliances. Failure to adjust A/C may result in a significant charge to your deposit.
